2020 Korea Movie Week kicks off to promote tourism, culture

HÀ NỘI – New Korean films will be screened for free in Hà Nội and HCM City as part of activities to promote Korean culture and tourism in the context of restricted tourism due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The programme includes a space to introduce beautiful landscape and unique culture of South Korea set up at the hall of the cinemas alongside the screenings of the latest dramas.

The films to be presented include Pawn, More Than Family, Exit, Collectors and the animation Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs.

Audiences will also have a chance to enjoy the music video series Cheer Up The World shot at famous destinations in South Korea including Seoul, Gangneung, Andong, Mokpo, Jeonju and Busan.

Hosted by Korean Tourism Organisation (KTO) in Việt Nam, the Korea Movie Week 2020 will run through December 20 at CGV Bà Triệu, Hà Nội and on December 23-27 at CGV Vạn Hạnh, HCM City. Free tickets can be collected from the Facebook KTO Việt Nam.

Park Jong-sun, a representative of the KTO Việt Nam, said the programme is dedicated to Vietnamese people who love Korean tourism and culture.

“The year 2020 with serious impact on pandemic will pass by and the tourism industry is waiting for a new normal era with many positive hopes,” he said.

“Through this event, we hope that Vietnamese tourists have more opportunities to explore Korean culture and people through exciting films. At the same time, we want to send a message that Việt Nam has always been a key market for Korean tourism and KTO will always do its best to work together with Vietnamese travel companies to promote the recovery of Korean tourism,” he added.
