Ho Dynasty citadel show opens

THANH HOA — An exhibition showcasing the architecture, images and artefacts from the Ho Dynasty Citadel has opened at a heritage centre in Thanh Hoa Province's Vinh Loc District.

The exhibition hall was used as a royal citadel by the leaders of the Ho dynasty between 1400 and 1407. About 600 objects that have been unearthed during various excavations at the site, including baked clay and ceramic wares from the 14th-15th century and 100 stone balls used to transport materials when the citadel was being built, are exhibited.

Literature competition launched

HA NOI — The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just launched a drama script competition that must involve islands and the ocean.

The competition, which ends on October 15, is open for people of all ages covering various drama genres including poetic drama and traditional opera.

Scripts can be sent to the Grassroots Culture Department, 53 Ngo Quyen Street, Ha Noi. As many as ten prizes, worth VND30 million (US$1.500), will be given out this November.

Antiques collection on display

DA NANG — About 300 antiques including bronze and ceramic ware from the first and second centuries from Lam Du Xenh's private collection are now on display at the Champa Sculpture Museum in Da Nang.

Collector Xenh from Quang Ngai Province is in possession of thousands of antiques, including artefacts from Dong Son (2,000BC-AD200), Sa Huynh (1,000BC-AD200), and the Champa eras (7th-15th century). He is also a member of Quang Ngai UNESCO Club for Research and Collecting Antiques. — VNS
