HA NOI — The Quang Ngai Sea and Island Culture Week will be held on the South Central Coast of the Quang Ngai Province and other coastal districts at the end of August.
The event, organised by the Quang Ngai People’s Committee, will include relevant outdoor activities such as a seminar titled ‘The Cultural Legacy of Quang Ngai’s Seas and Islands,’ release of books on seas and islands including the Be island, and ranking of the Gieng Tien and Thoi Loi mountains among the top beautiful spots in the country by the government.
The opening ceremony scheduled to be held in Quang Ngai City, will highlight the Culture Week. The event will also include the inauguration of a photo exhibition, Homeland Seas and Islands, as well as many other activities.
It is aimed at promoting the significance of seas and islands for the socio-economic development of the country, stressing the sovereignty of seas and islands in the country, enhancing the awareness of the young generation on protecting and defending the water bodies, improving preservation, and promoting the image of the people of Quang Ngai to international and domestic visitors. — VNS
