HA NOI — Becamex Binh Duong won the Binh Duong Television (BTV) Cup, an international football tournament, beating Brazilian Vasco Da Gama B 1-0 in the final on Sunday.
Substitute striker Mirchev Mitkov scored the only goal at the 59th minute, just a few minutes after being called onto the field.
Vasco Da Gama, who dominated the match from the start, pushed up their line-up, searching for an equaliser.
Goalkeeper Bui Tan Truong and his defenders, however, bested all of their attempts.
It was their sixth trophy at the annual tournament that brought them a bonus of VND500 million (US$22,400). The win was also a good start for new coach Tran Minh Chien, who has been at the helm for nearly two months.
