HA NOI — Former midfielder Tran Anh Khoa, who is famous in Viet Nam after suffering a severe injury two years ago, is now strong enough to get married on Thursday in the beach city of Da Nang.
As per local media reports, the bride’s name is Phan Viet Khanh.
This will be a new beginning for the former SHB Da Nang player, who had to quit the game last year owing to that injury.
Khoa, 27, used to be a national hero. Unfortunately, he suffered a serious knee injury in 2015 after a foul by Song Lam Nghe An defender Que Ngoc Hai during a V.League match. His knee’s meniscuses, ligaments, tendon and joint were broken.
Khoa visited many hospitals in Viet Nam and Singapore. Hai was forced to bear the cost of treatment, amounting to VND800 million (US$36,000), the first ever such case in Viet Nam.
After undergoing treatment for nearly two years, doctors concluded that Khoa could not play football again. He then started working as a trainer.
And now he is starting the next stage in his relationship that will bring him a happy ever after. — VNS
