HA NOI — The Ha Noi and Hai Phong diving teams won a gold each in the second competition day of National Sports Games, held late Wednesday at My Dinh Water Sports Gymnasium.
In the men’s 3m synchronised diving, Duong Van Thanh and Nguyen Tung Duong from Hai Phong took gold with 288.48 points, while Vu Anh Duy and Phuong The Anh from Ha Noi were runners-up with 231.45 points and Vo Trong Thanh and Bui Xuan Hao from Ho Chi Minh City took bronze with 212.58 points.
In the women’s 3m synchronised diving, Nguyen Phuong Anh and Ngo Phuong Mai from Ha Noi took gold with 209.01 points. Runners-up were Nguyen Vu Thao Quynh and Hoang Le Thanh Thuy from Ho Chi Minh City with 192.24 points. Third were Hoang Hong Phuong and Mai Hong Hanh from Quang Ninh with 145.47 points.
After two days of competition, the capital’s diving team leads the medal table with four golds and four silvers, followed by Quang Ninh with one gold, one silver, three bronzes and Hai Phong with one gold, one silver and two bronzes.
They will resume competition today. Diving will finish on November 24.
In tennis, Da Nang won in the semi-finals at Ha Noi Indoor Games Gymnasium.
In the women’s singles, Vietnamese – Hungarian Fodor Csilla beat Phan Nhu Quynh from Dak Lak Province 6-0, 6-2.
In the next match, Phan Thi Thanh Binh from Da Nang overcame Huynh Phuong Dai Trang from Ho Chi Minh City 6-4, 6-1.
Da Nang will face Kien Giang, who beat Ha Noi, in the final.
In men’s singles, Ho Chi Minh City won a ticket to the finals with total score 2-1. Tat Thai Nguyen beat Vu Thai Nam from Ha Noi 6-2, 6-4.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Dac Tien from Ha Noi defeated Do Minh Quan from Ho Chi Minh City 6-3, 6-3.
