HA NOI — Ha Noi took home the trophy in the National U16 Football Tournament, which concluded at Ha Nam Stadium in the northern province of Ha Nam on Monday.
The team representing the capital beat hosts Ha Nam 2-0 in the final to score 15 points after six matches.
HCM City, who tied with the national team 1-1, were the runners-up with 10 points. The national team ranked third with five points.
The event’s organising board gave the award for the best player to Nguyen Hoang An Nhu of HCM City. The best goal scorer award went to Vu Thi Hoa of Ha Noi, while Dao Thi Kieu Oanh, also of Ha Noi, won the award for best goalie.
The event gave the players a chance to hone their skills for the AFF championship in May. — VNS
