HA NOI — Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) tied 1-1 with Mito Hollyhock of Japan at the International U19 Football Tournament yesterday.
The game was held at the Pleiku Stadium in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai.
Taking full advantage of playing on their home turf, HAGL counter-attacked virtually from the start while the visitors showed their discomfiture.
In the 39th minute, striker Minh Binh opened the score for HAGL.
After the break, Mito Hollyhock fought back strongly and levelled the score 1-1 in the 78th minute.
A minute later, Binh had a chance to raise the score to 2-1 but failed.
Earlier, FC Seoul of South Korea beat Chonburi of Thailand 3-1.
HAGL will next meet Viet Nam team, while Mito Hollyhock faces FC Seoul on March 28. — VNS
