HA NOI — Vietnamese students won one gold medal and one bronze in karate at the ASEAN University Games in Myanmar on December 17.
In the first day of karate events, Le Thi Thu Thao triumphed in the women’s 55kg while Trang Cam Lanh finished third in the women’s 61kg.
In vovinam, athletes pocketed two silvers in the women’s categories through Luong Huyen Trang and Nguyen Thi Hoai Nuong.
Table tennis athletes won a berth in the semi-finals of the men’s team event.
After eight days of competition, Viet Nam has grabbed 14 golds to stand fifth in the ranking.
Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia make up the top three. — VNS
