HA NOI — No 1 seed duo Ly Hoang Nam and Trinh Linh Giang won the men’s doubles at the Viet Nam Tennis Federation (VTF) Pro Tour 1.
The final was held in Vung Tau City on February 1.
The duo from Becamex Binh Duong defeated veterans Hoang Thanh Trung and Ngo Duc Duong of the Police 6-1, 6-0.
Despite being more experienced, both Trung and Duong surrendered to the powerful attacks of Nam and Giang.
On the women’s side, Fodor Csilla and Phan Thi Thanh Binh of Da Nang crushed Hoang Thi Ha and Dang Thi Hanh of Hai Duong 6-2, 6-2 to triumph in the doubles category.
This is the first time non-resident Vietnamese Csilla has played in a professional event in Viet Nam. She is expected to become a leading player in the country.
This evening, Nam will face Giang in the men’s singles final, while Csilla will play against Tiffany Linh Nguyen of Binh Duong in the women’s singles final. — VNS
