Phương wins fourth stage of NKKN cycling event

HA NOI — Ngo Van Phuong won the fourth stage of the Nam Ky Khoi Nghia (NKKN) cycling race in Laos yesterday.

Phuong of Gao Hat Ngoc Troi finished first in the 156km from Stung Treng to Pakse City of Champusak Province in a time of 4:17.00.

Nguyen Thang and Le Nguyet Minh of Minh Giang-HCM City were the runners-up.

Phuong took the yellow jersey for the best total time of 13:16.18 from Minh, though the latter currently holds the green jersey as the best sprinter with 64 points, followed by Mai Nguyen Hung of VUS-HCM City with 42 points and Nguyen Tan Hoai of Domesco Pharmacy Dong Thap with 29 points.

The white jersey as the best young cyclist belongs to Nguyen Dac Thoi of Loc Troi Group.

Minh Giang-HCM City replaced VUS-HCM City to take the lead in the team’s rankings with a total time of 39:51.46.

Today, 72 cyclists from 12 domestic and international teams will compete in the fifth stage, lasting 64km around Pakse City in Champasak Province, Laos. — VNS
