HA NOI — The Saigon Heat beat Malaysia Westports Dragons 65-60 in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) on Sunday at the CIS Arena in HCM City.
The two teams were close early on, but the Heat pulled away in the final minutes of the first quarter to a 16-11 lead thanks to Sang Dinh and Chris Dierker.
In the next period, Sang Dinh, De Angelo Hamilton and Corey Cilia helped the Heat open the gap to 31-22.
The visiting side Dragons then fought back strongly to level the scores but they ultimately fell short, losing 65-60.
Kyle Barone contributed greatly to the win notching 20 points, 19 rebounds and one block.
The Heat will next face Zhuhai Wolf Warriors of China on December 13. — VNS
