HA NOI — Thanh Hoa, V.League 1 runners-up last season, aim to beat Yangon United in the second match of Group G of the AFC Cup 2018 on February 27 in Myanmar.
Earlier, Thanh Hoa defeated Global Cebu of the Philippines in the event’s first match on February 10 in Ha Noi.
To prepare for the game, Thanh Hoa convened on February 21 after enjoying Tet holidays.
The team won’t have service of midfielder Mai Tien Thanh, who hasn’t recovered from a knee injury, but coach Marian Mihail has another choice: midfielder Nguyen Xuan Thanh, who played well against Global Cebu.
Meanwhile, Yangon United, who finished second in the Myanmar National League, also had a good start in the AFC event, beating Bali United FC of Indonesia 3-1 in their first match of the campaign on February 13. — VNS
