HA NOI — The Viet Nam Football Federation (VFF) has temporally banned defender Nguyen Tang Tien of Hoang Anh Gia Lai for a match because of his violent action in a V.League match last week.
During the match on April 5, Tien, in an attempt to take the ball, trampled on Ha Noi FC’s midfielder Do Duy Manh’s leg.
Tien received a red card for the foul and was automatically banned for the next two matches.
It meant the 24-year-old will be sidelined for at least three matches. The final decision will be given after the VFF’s Discipline Department receives the test result of Manh’s injury.
Tien also incurred a fine from his club as owner Doan Nguyen Duc decided to place him on the bench until the end of V.League’s first leg on June 13. — VNS
