HA NOI — The Viet Nam Football Federation (VFF) has affirmed its trade rights with national teams following the success of the Viet Nam Olympic team at the ongoing Asian Games (ASIAD) 2018 in Indonesia.
The Federation said that it is the only unit in the country to own names, images, brand names and rights of trade exploitation related to national teams including the U23 team and the Viet Nam Olympic team.
According to the VFF, at present, the Viet Nam Olympic team have reached the bronze-medal match in which they will face the United Arab Emirates on Saturday. This result has satisfied fans. However, many organisations, enterprises and individuals are using the Viet Nam Olympic team’s image to trade or advertise products and services, which is a violation of the trade rights of the VFF.
The VFF has asked individuals and organisations to cease such actions and it will carry out methods in its competence to protect trade rights under Viet Nam’s law. — VNS
