HÀ NỘI — The Vietnamese national football team have maintained their leading position in the Southeast Asia region, according to the July FIFA world rankings.
Việt Nam are in 94th position in the world and 14th in Asia with 1,258 points.
Thailand, world No 113, are second in the region with 1,178 points, followed by the Philippines (world No 124), Myanmar (No 136) and Malaysia (No 154).
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic halting international football, it's no surprise that the latest rankings have seen little change.
Japan lead Asia with 28th place in the world and 1,500 points. They are followed by Iran, South Korea, Australia, and Asian Cup holders Qatar.
