HA NOI — Viet Nam will defend their title after their second win at the International U19 Football Tournament in Gia Lai Province on Saturday.
Coach Vu Hong Viet of Viet Nam confirmed the news after his players defeated FC Seoul 2-1 in the second round match.
Two goals by Viet Nam went to Tran Cong Minh and Nham Manh Dung, while Kang Mingi scored the only goal for the South Korean side.
“I feel good when my players strictly follow my tactics and win the match. Prior to the tournament, we thought Seoul would be the team who could vie for the winning trophy with us. We will defeat them both in the two last matches to defend our title,” Viet said.
Viet Nam will face Hoang Anh Gia Lai on March 28 and Mito Hollyhock two days later.
In today fixtures, Seoul will play Thailand’s Chonburi and Hoang Anh Gia Lai will meet Mito Hollyhock. — VNS
