HA NOI — Viet Nam’s national men’s football team still hold the No 1 spot in the Southeast Asian region, according to FIFA’s January ranking release.
Viet Nam are now world No 112, with 298 points to lead the region, followed by the Philippines, world No 123 and Thailand, world No 129.
Asia’s top five teams are Iran, world No 34, Australia (No 36), Japan (No 56), South Korea (No 59) and Saudi Arabia (No 65). Viet Nam are in 16th place.
The world’s top 10 remained unchanged. Germany sat atop the world rankings, followed by Brazil and Portugal. — VNS
