HA NOI — Viet Nam U19 drew 1-1 with Evergrande B of Guangzhou in their third friendly match held in China on Sunday.
Vietnamese midfielder Tien Anh’s arm was broken in the game following a clash with a footballer of Evergrande B. As a result, Anh will miss the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) U19 Championship which will start in Indonesia on July 2-14.
Earlier, Viet Nam crushed Meizhou Meixian Techand, who are competing in the first division event of China, 5-0 in their second friendly and they also bested this team 6-0 in the first friendly.
In the regional championships, Viet Nam are in Group A with Thailand, Singapore, Laos, the Philippines and the hosts. Group B sees Malaysia, Myanmar, East Timor, Cambodia and Brunei facing off. — VNS
