QUANG NINH — The Tuan Chau Ha Long Open 2018 of the FIVB World Tour started at the Tuan Chau international tourism and entertainment site in Ha Long City on June 10.
The three-day event drew 18 teams from 12 countries, including Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Israel and Viet Nam.
A match between Viet Nam and the Czech Republic took place after the opening ceremony in the morning.
This is the 15th time a women’s beach volleyball championship has been organised on Tuan Chau Island.
The tournament was recognised as a World Tour event this year after being a noted Asian competition for many years prior. — VNS
