HẬU GIANG — A collection of 700 cameras spanning many decades is on display for free for visitors to admire and experience in Ngã Bảy City in Hậu Giang Province.
Hundreds of vintage cameras and camcorders are displayed, covering the entire space of a café located on Lê Hồng Phong Street in Ngã Bảy City in Hậu Giang Province.
Nguyễn Hoàng Nam, the owner of the camera collection, told Tuổi Trẻ (Youth) newspaper that for over 10 years, whenever he heard about vintage cameras for sale, he would seek them out.
Nam shared his passion for art, especially owning both classic and modern cameras and camcorders.
"I have been saving up every day, reaching out to old photographers in places as far as Hà Nội, and now I have 700 cameras and camcorders from brands like Canon, Nikon, Yashica, Pentax, Mamiya, Ricoh, and Minolta. Most of them are decades old, with the oldest being over 80 years old," Nam said.
To share his passion with friends, family, and tourists visiting Hậu Giang, Nam has displayed the collection in the open space of Coffee Like café, allowing visitors to enjoy a cup of hot coffee while experiencing and directly handling the old cameras, which they may have only seen in the media before.
Nam added that because the collection is displayed in an open space rather than in a protected room, it requires regular cleaning and oiling to reduce damage, as many of the cameras are still in good working condition. VNS
