HCM CITY— The Celeb Academy Viet Nam (CAV) and Global K Centre, a South Korean-based music training centre, are offering long training courses and short experience classes aimed at young singers and people who want to develop their professional career.
The CAV trains its students based on the work of South Korean singing idols. Singing and dance as well as make-up and photo shooting skills, acting, catwalk, etiquette and cultural experiences will be included.
Personal brand and image-making will also be taught.
The Global K Centre offers classes on K-Pop, Applied music, Model, K-Beauty, and K-Drama. Classes are different depending on departments.
“We will develop our academy to be one of the country’s leading music centres in music idol training,” said a CAV representative.
The centre has worked with the Global K Centre, trainer of idol bands such as BigBang, EXO, SNSD, DBSK and Wanna One, to develop their business.
It also invited Vietnamese leading artists, including pop star Hong Nhung, dancer and choreographer Pham Lich, photographer Pham Hoai Nam and American catwalk expert-photographer Henri Hubert, who has several years working in Ha Noi, to participate in their courses.
“My friends and I heard about music training by the Celeb Academy. We hope the centre will play a role in the industry’s developments," said Nguyen Thu Thao, a first-year student at HCM City University of Culture.
Last year, WePro, a music agency of HCM City, launched a music training programme called Du An So 1- The Debut, that not only produces competition TV shows but also organises live shows for young singers and underground artists.
The programme’s producers offer training in vocal, dance and performance skills.
In his interview with local media, veteran musician and producer Quang Huy, owner of WePro, said: “My programme aims to seek new young talents.”
“We have worked to support our trainees, such as Tung Duong and Hoang Phuong, organise live concerts and produce albums of different styles to meet the tastes of young audiences,” said the 39-year-old.
Huy wrote and composed songs for pop stars My Tam and Dan Truong.
He worked as a manager for pop stars Ung Hoang Phuc and Son Tung-MT P and the girl band HAT.
In 2002, he opened his agency, WePro, to offer training and producing in music and film.
His company trained and managed young singers Trinh Thanh Binh, Luong Bich Huu, Anh Kiet, and the band Weboys. — VNS
