HÀ NỘI – Three artistic talent contests, including the Total Puppet Talent Competition 2023, National Dance Talent Contest 2023 and National Drama Actor Talent Contest 2023, are taking place in Hà Nội until August 26.

The Department of Performing Arts, in collaboration with the Việt Nam Association of Theatre Artists, the Việt Nam Dance Artists Association, the Hà Nội Department of Culture and Sports and related agencies and units organised three competitions.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tạ Quang Đông emphasised the three competitions are one of the practical activities contributing to preserving and promoting the identity and values of Việt Nam's cultural heritages.
The organisation of these art talent contests aim to discover and honour talents and individuals who have made achievements in the process of creation of dance, puppetry and drama. This is an opportunity for art units to find, attract and foster the next generation of artists and actors.
Artists and actors can also exchange experiences, cultivate knowledge, and improve professional qualifications and quality of dance, puppetry and drama performances.
The National Puppetry Talent Competition takes place at the Việt Nam Puppet Theatre with the participation of 20 actors from five art troupes. The contestants include three genres of water puppetry, land puppetry, and repertoire.
The National Dance Talent Competition is organised at Âu Cơ Art Centre with the participation of 61 actors from 24 art units. The contestants are divided into three groups: ballet, contemporary, and folk dance.
The National Drama Actors Talent Competition takes place at Hà Nội Youth Theatre with the participation of 63 actors from 17 art units.
With nearly 200 performances, excerpts, acts and performances by nearly 150 actors, three competitions promise to bring the audience unique artistic performances. — VNS
