BẮC GIANG — The People's Committee of Bắc Giang Province has opened the Bắc Giang Fine Arts Exhibition 2024 and presented the Bắc Giang Fine Arts Awards 2024.
Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trương Quang Hải said in his opening speech: “The Bắc Giang Fine Arts Exhibition 2024 is not only an annual cultural event but also an important milestone, demonstrating the development of the province's fine arts over the past years.
"This is a great opportunity for artists, painters, sculptors and students to meet, exchange ideas, learn and inspire creativity, thereby contributing to promoting the province's fine arts movement. At the same time, the exhibition also opens up a space to display valuable works of art, bringing fine arts closer to the public, so that everyone can appreciate and love the beauty of visual arts.”
Over the years, artists have created many valuable works that reflect the real and vivid life of the people. These works of art not only serve the cultural and spiritual life of the community but also introduce and promote the image of the land and people of Bắc Giang, as well as the achievements of socio-economic development in the province to friends at home and abroad.
Bắc Giang fine arts have affirmed their position and prestige in the national art scene, with works by veteran artists such as Trương Đình Hào, Lưu Thế Hân, Văn Tơn and Duy Lập, as well as sculptors Anh Vũ and Bùi Ngọc Lân. These works are not only displayed in major museums but also participate in many prestigious exhibitions in the region and internationally.

The younger generation of Bắc Giang fine arts continues this fine tradition, increasingly affirming their talent and passion for artistic creation. Their works have been featured in many national and regional exhibitions, marking a solid step forward for the province's fine arts.
At the exhibition which took place last month, the organising committee summarised and awarded prizes for the fine arts creation contest launched by the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in April 2024. The organising committee received 354 works from 162 artists, working in many rich materials such as lacquer, bronze, aluminum, acrylic and oil paint.
Many works possess high ideological and artistic values, conveying clear messages, with expansion and richness in creative thinking and visual language, showcasing diversity in forms of expression, techniques of execution, and materials with new explorations and expressions.
The jury selected 92 of the best works to display and award prizes at the exhibition. At the same time, the organising committee awarded prizes to 24 works in the category for those over 18 years old and in the category for high school students. VNS
