CÀ MAU - Despite a decrease in the number of visitors, Cà Mau Province has achieved an increase of nearly two per cent in terms of revenue from tourism services during the Reunification Day and Labour Day holidays.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Cà Mau, from April 29 to May 1, the province welcomed over 212,250 visitors, a decrease of nearly 5 per cent compared to the same period in 2023.

Although the number of tourists decreased slightly, revenue from tourism services reached VNĐ166 billion, an increase of nearly two per cent compared to the same period in 2023.

Some tourist areas and destinations in the area still attract many visitors for sightseeing and experiences, such as Đất Mũi community tourism sites, Hòn Đá Bạc tourist area and Hồ Chí Minh President Memorial Area, among others.

Accommodation and tourism service establishments in the province have focused on improving the quality of services and products.

At various tourist attractions and entertainment areas, good practices have been implemented in terms of transparent pricing, price stabilisation, and ensuring security, food hygiene and safety.

The province has organised several cultural, artistic and sports events that attracted a large number of locals and tourists, creating good publicity.

Examples of such events included U Minh Forest Fragrance, the 4th Southern Folk Cake Festival, and the 2024 Cà Mau Book and Reading Culture Day.

There were also exemplary activities of the programme "Cà Mau - Destination 2024" commemorating the Liberation of the South and the Reunification of the country on April 30th and International Labour Day on May 1st. - VNS
