HCM CITY — A new series of children’s picture books highlighting Việt Nam’s culture and geography has been released in HCM City.
The series titled Đến Thăm Thành Phố Của Em (Let’s Visit My Hometown) is created by author Võ Mai Chi and illustrated by Nguyễn Hữu Thịnh, Lê Tấn Lộc, and artists from Epico Studio.
The work offers child readers tales and images of landscapes, traditional customs, culture, food and lifestyle of localities across Việt Nam, which are narrated by local children.
The Trẻ (Youth) Publishing House has introduce the first six books describing HCM City, Cần Thơ Province, Huế City in Thừa Thiên-Huế Province, Sapa in Lào Cai Province, Bắc Ninh Province, and Lý Sơn Island in Quảng Ngãi Province.
Each book, having around 25-30 pages, features the unique culture and destinations of the localities through colourful and lovely illustrations.
The HCM City Book Pedestrian Street, the Đông Ba Market in Huế, and the Cái Răng Floating Market in Cần Thơ are highlighted in the books.
According to the publisher, Đến Thăm Thành Phố Của Em is an interesting book guide for primary students to learn about the country. It is also the publisher’s effort to develop pride and love of the country among children.
The six books from the series are available at book stores across the country, and e-commerce platforms. — VNS
