NINH BÌNH — Ninh Bình Province will host its first ever hot air balloon festival in the autumn.
The Tràng An-Cúc Phương Hot Air Balloon Festival will arrive over three days from September 20-23.
The provincial People's Committee issued plan No 132/KH-UBND about the festival, saying it is a new, exiting and unique tourism product to attract more local and international visitors.
The festival, at the Tràng An Cultural Park, will, it is hoped, also draw in visitors to experience the district's culture and the friendliness of the local people, showing off the potential and advantages of tourism development.
The opening ceremony, on the night of September 20, and across the following days, will include many colourful hot air balloons, a light show, music, dance and art activities.
There will also be an exhibition showcasing around 120 local specialties and regional OCOP products during the festival.
The People's Committee of Ninh Bình asked for all the parties involved to closely coordinate and carefully prepare for a successful festival, promoting it widely among the community to get as many visitors to the province as possible.
The festival is hosted by the local Department of Tourism, in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports, the Hot Air Balloon Association, the Ninh Bình Tourism Association and the Ballooning Media International Ballooning Company. — VNS
