HÀ NỘI -- The first round of the professional golf tournament DNSE Vietnam Open 2022 opened on Tuesday with a surprising finish of players – only one under par score despite the tough – terrain of the Sky Course.
Being a quite 'familiar' course, however, Sky Course - Sky Lake Resort & Golf Club still brings many difficulties to players as its design follows the standards of top tournaments.
The Sky Course itself also possesses a rather complex terrain with forests and many lakes, the slope rating calculated from the black tee of the course reaches 136, a high index compared to the common level.
After round 1, the current top tier golfers are Nguyễn Anh Minh in the men's group and Lina Kim (from South Korea) in the women's group, with a total score of 1 under par and 1 over par respectively.

Following Lina Kim closely, Vietnamese golfer Ngô Bảo Nghi recorded 3 over par. The third rank belonged to Phạm Thị Yến Vi and Park Si Eun (from South Korea) with the same total score of +8.

Lina Kim said: “Today was not a bad day, but I hope to be able to improve my score and my skills, especially putting. Hole 18 is one of the most difficult holes with fast greens and very difficult to control. I need to practise more and stay calmer.”
On the men's side, back in this tournament, Anh Minh had a pretty good record on the first day of competition, the young talent finished 3 birdies and 2 bogeys on Tuesday.
At the present, the trio leading the board are Nguyễn Anh Minh, Brian Jung (from South Korea), and Lê Khánh Hùng with a total score of 1 under par, even par and even par respectively.
The DNSE Vietnam Open 2022, the only tournament in the Vietnam Professional Golf Tournament System (VGA Tour Open) for international golfers outside of Việt Nam, which was kicked off on Tuesday in Hà Nội, will be closed on Friday.
The tournament marks the first time that the DNSE Securities Joint Stock Company has accompanied a top sports tournament in the country.
Through the tournament, the Vietnam Golf Association and VGA Tour will continue to affirm their commitment to building the Vietnamese golf foundation and national professional sports.
DNSE Vietnam Open 2022 is the first and only tournament of the year of the VGA Tour Open for international golfers to attend, regardless of number and nationality, to increase competitiveness and professional quality in Vietnamese professional golf.
The DNSE Vietnam Open 2022 is committed to supporting 100 per cent of the cost of participation for young Vietnamese amateur talents under 18 years old and opening a competition table for professional and female amateur golfers with prize money of VNĐ200 million.
VGA Tour also maintains a bonus of VNĐ1 billion for the men's group of the DNSE Vietnam Open 2022, equivalent to the bonus for many regional tournaments in the Asian Development Tour System.VNS
