BÌNH ĐỊNH — V.League 1 club Bình Định have announced the departure of 12 players in an official statement released on the club's Facebook page.
Bình Định have been one of the most tumultuous teams in recent times. After changing their name three times in just two years, the club have now parted ways with a significant portion of their main squad.
The players who will no longer play for Bình Định in the upcoming season include Nghiêm Xuân Tú, Mạc Hồng Quân, Phạm Văn Thành, Hà Đức Chinh, Trần Đình Trọng, Nguyễn Hùng Thiện Đức, Phạm Minh Nghĩa, Trần Đình Minh Hoàng, Nguyễn Mạnh Cường, Adriano Schmidt, Marlon Rangel, and Alan Grafite. Most of these departures were anticipated.
There are rumours that Trần Đình Trọng might join Hà Nội Police, while Adriano Schmidt could move to HCM City. Grafite, the league's second-highest scorer last season, has officially signed with Hà Nội Police.
During the 2023/24 V.League 1 season, Bình Định performed impressively, finishing second in the league. However, with the team no longer associated with a sponsor, the club is expected to be under some financial strain.
To prepare for the new season, Bình Định have renewed contracts with Leo Atur and Đỗ Văn Thuận. Additionally, head coach Bùi Đoàn Quang Huy has been secured on a long-term contract, as he is widely regarded as the key to Bình Định's success.
Bình Định are also actively seeking to bring in new faces, especially young players with strong physicality, to provide more opportunities for the youth team and ensure the club's sustainable development. —VNS
