HCM City streets to ban vehicles for Run Day on Sunday

HCM CITY — The HCM City Department of Transport will ban all vehicles entering a number of streets in District 1 to ensure traffic safety and order during Olympic Run Day for Public Health 2020 on Sunday.

All vehicles will be banned entering Lê Duẩn Street on the section from Nguyễn Bỉnh Khiêm Street to Tôn Đức Thắng Street between 4am and 10:30pm on Sunday.

Vehicles travelling from Nguyễn Bỉnh Khiêm Street to Lê Duẩn Street can take Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai and Đinh Tiên Hoàng streets. They can also take Tôn Đức Thắng and Nguyễn Hữu Cảnh streets in the reverse direction.

From 8am to 10:30am on Sunday, the city will not permit vehicles on Lê Duẩn, Công xã Paris, Đồng Khởi, Ngô Đức Kế, Nguyễn Huệ, and Lê Thánh Tôn streets.

Vehicles travelling on Bỉnh Khiêm Street to Lê Duẩn Street will be diverted to Nguyễn Hữu Cảnh, Tôn Đức Thắng, Hàm Nghi and Pasteur streets, or to Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai, Phùng Khắc Khoan, Trần Cao Vân , Công trường Quốc tế and Phạm Ngọc Thạch streets.

In the reverse direction, vehicles can take Nam Kỳ Khởi Nghĩa, Lý Tự Trọng, Tôn Đức Thắng and Nguyễn Hữu Cảnh streets, or Hàm Nghi, Võ Văn Kiệt, Tôn Đức Thắng and Nguyễn Hữu Cảnh streets.

The department said drivers must strictly follow instructions of traffic control forces and guidance on road traffic signs.

Individuals and organisations in affected areas should ask the Department of Culture and Sports if they need to travel on the day.
