HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese female rowers have advanced to two finals at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
Quartet Đinh Thị Hảo, Dư Thị Bông, Hà Thị Vui and Phạm Thị Huệ placed third in the qualification round of the women's four with a time of 6min 39.89sec.
China were on top with 6:33.40, followed by Japan on 6:38.05.
The finals will be held on September 24 at the Fuyang Water Sports Centre
Among Vietnamese rowers, Hảo and Huệ were in Việt Nam team which pocketed a silver in this category at the previous Games in Indonesia in 2018.
Earlier, duo Phạm Thị Thảo and Nguyễn Thị Giang secured their final berth in the women's double sculls.
They came second in the qualification in a time of 7:12.57, 3.28sec slower than the winner Iran. But it was enough for them to advance to the next round.
Thảo was one of four Vietnamese athletes who won a gold in the lightweight quadruple sculls in the 2018 Games.
However, she has no chance to defend the title as that category is not organised this year.
The finals will be held on September 24. VNS
