HÀ NAM — Thái Sơn Nam won the first leg of the National Women's Futsal Championship after beating Hà Nội 3-1 on August 30 in Hà Nam Province.
Despite strong effort Hà Nội could only defend their woodwork for five minutes.
Bùi Thị Trang managed a ball and opened the score with a finish to the far corner of Hà Nội.
Two minutes later Trịnh Nguyễn Thanh Hằng doubled the result with a close-range tap-in.
Hà Nội arranged their line-up and tried to open attacks. Their defenders also worked well to resist Thái Sơn Nam's threatening opportunities.
Hà Nội's effort brought goal at the 31st minute. Thái Sơn Nam's defender Nguyễn Thị Hằng's kick made the ball touched Hà Nội's Phó Ngọc Thanh Thi and headed home, narrowing 1-3 for the capital representative.
Just three minutes later Lê Thị Thanh Ngân wrapped up the match with a straight shot.
With nine points after three wins, Thái Sơn Nam topped the ranking after the first leg of the championship.
HCM City came second with four points after their 4-4 draw against hosts Phong Phú Hà Nam in the later match on August 30.
Captain Trần Thị Thùy Trang scored a doubles for the City and teammates K’Thủa and Danh Lâm Kim Phụng netted one each.
On the host side, Nguyễn Thị Quỳnh, Nguyễn Thùy Linh and Kiều Thị Hoài Anh bagged one goal each after K’Thủa made an own goal in early time of the first half.
Hà Nam had same four points with HCM City but they placed third because of worse goal difference.
Hà Nội stayed at the bottom with no point as they lost all three matches.
Players will have two days rest before the second leg on September 2.
Reigning champions Thái Sơn Nam will play HCM City while Hà Nam will receive Hà Nội. VNS
