HCM CITY – The Đà Nẵng Dragons have ended their losing streak with an 85-82 win over the Hồ Chí Minh City Wings.

The two teams at the bottom of the rankings met for the first time in Thursday's match at Hồ Xuân Hương Gymnasium.

In the first quarter, the duo of Shon Briggs and Khoa Trần were the point leaders of the home team.

On the other side, after his return in the previous match, Bryan Nguyễn was more connected with his teammates.

Thanks to Marquis Davison's smooth counterattacks, the away team temporarily led 23-19.

In the second quarter, the Dragons increased the lead thanks to Max Allen's dominance in the paint and the support from the bench, especially seven points from Triệu Hán Minh.

On the other side, the City Wings quickly replied with seven points from 18-year-old talent Tim De Kok.

The score was 43-39 in favor of the Dragons before the break.

In the third quarter, the two teams played neck and neck.

On the offensive front of the City Wings, Phạm Hiền Tài and Maurice Gordon took turns shining.

Meanwhile, three three-pointers from Nguyễn Đuờng Quang Anh helped the representative of Đà Nẵng maintain a lead of four points at 66-62.

In the deciding quarter, in the seventh minute, Allen left the game with his fifth personal foul. However, the team still secured the lead and won the game with the final score of 85-82.

Marquis Davison, the top scorer of the Dragons, was the owner of the Player of the Game title with 26 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists and four steals. In this match, the shooting efficiency of the Dragons and the City Wings was similar. However, the representative of Hồ Chí Minh City missed many opportunities at the free throw line.

After last night's results, the two teams switched positions.

Accordingly, the Dragons (two wins, seven losses) are ranked fifth, while the City Wings (two wins, eight losses) are ranked sixth. VNS
