HCM CITY - The defending VBA champion Saigon Heat have increased their winning streak to five games after defeated the Da Nang Dragons.
The match took place without too many surprises, as the Heat were the favoured team due to the Dragons' Bryan Nguyễn being out because of injury.
Local point guard Nguyễn Đường Quang Anh replaced the captain.
With such a big advantage, the Heat took advantage and quickly created a large lead in the first quarter with the excellent play of foreign player Jevonnie Scott.
The best thing for the Dragons probably came from local player Dương Đức Trí as he successfully made five three-point shots.
But that was not enough for the Dragon to dream of a comeback.
The Heat won the match with a score of 88-80.
Jevonnie Scott continued was named Player of the Game with 38 points, 15 rebounds and a 100% free throw rate (10/10).
"Today, the support of my teammates helped me a lot. Maintaining an all-win record is not easy. However, the whole team will continue to practice, stick to the plan, and not get distracted. Hopefully we will have more victories," Scott said.
Although they lost to the Heat today, the Dragons still saw positive things from their domestic players.
Huỳnh Trực Nhân had a very explosive reunion with his old team with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and not turnovers.
Meanwhile, Đức Trí shoot well from the three-point line with five out of six successful three-point shots and had 17 points in total. VNS
