HÀ NỘI — Herbalife, a nutrition supplement company, has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Việt Nam Olympic Committee (VOC) and Việt Nam Paralympic Association (VPA) to support top Vietnamese athletes.
The deal, signed in Hà Nội on March 28, will provide Herbalife products to 120 athletes and 45 athletes with disabilities in 2023.
This initiative has been ongoing for the past few years, and the recipients are nominated by their coaches and federations before being carefully reviewed and approved.
Trần Văn Mạnh, the general secretary of VOC, stated that the athletes who will receive the Herbalife products had achieved good results in recent tournaments and are expected to be among the Vietnamese golden hopes at the upcoming 32nd SEA Games and ParaGames in May in Cambodia.
These athletes are also expected to compete for medals at the Asian Games in September in China and to earn places at the Paris Olympics.
The selection process for athletes with disabilities is rigorous. They must have achieved high results in international competitions, be named in national teams, and be training at national sports centres.

Products will help athletes rebuild strength and endurance and provide special diets during intensive training.
"Nutrition products play a key role in supporting Vietnamese athletes to improve their physical strength and endurance, which are important for them to earn high results in international competitions, especially the 32nd SEA Games," said Mạnh.
Gymnast Đinh Phương Thành hoped that shortly, Herbalife could create specialised products for each sport so that they would be pushed to the fullest of success.
In addition to nutrition supplements, Herbalife also organises training courses about nutrition for coaches and athletes. The company will have special bonuses and financial support for the national leading competitors. VNS
