The tour route will focus on exploiting historical sites and craft villages including Đình Nội Temple, Quảng Phú Cầu incense village and Phùng Xá silk weaving village.
Đình Nội, located in Bình Đà Village, Bình Minh Commune, Thanh Oai District, will be the first destination. Recognised as a national historical and cultural treasure in 1991, this is the site of worship for King Lạc Long Quân.
The temple honouring the country's fabled founder, Lạc Long Quân, offers visitors architectural and cultural values and historical significance. They will hear the legend of the Mountain Goddess Âu Cơ and the Dragon King Lạc Long Quân. Following their union, Âu Cơ gave birth to a sac holding 100 eggs, from which 100 offspring were descended. This is the origin story of the Vietnamese people.
Quảng Phú Cầu incense village, located in Ứng Hòa, is a destination that should not be missed on the South Thăng Long cultural heritage route. Dating back hundreds of years, the incense making village has grown to be a popular site for both local and foreign visitors in recent years.
The Phùng Xá silk weaving village in the Mỹ Đức is the final destination on the route. Here, visitors can observe the different stages of cultivating mulberries, nurturing silkworms, spinning threads, cultivating lotuses for silk production, weaving and embroidering lotuses.
By putting these tourist routes into use, the Hà Nội tourism authority is exhibiting its commitment to developing and enhancing the quality of tourism products and tourist destinations, also preserving and promoting the city's historical sites, artefacts and craft villages. VNS
