HCM CITY Starting from July 22, both domestic and international tourists visiting HCM City can register for the HCM City Free Walking Tour to explore the city's iconic destinations on foot.

According to a representative of BenThanh Tourist, the organisation that launched this tourism product, the free walking tour is designed with the aim of introducing both Vietnamese and international tourists to the unique historical and cultural sites and the iconic architecture of HCM City.

The Free Walking Tour is organised daily from 9.30am to 1pm, for all Vietnamese and foreign tourists who wish to explore HCM City on foot.

On this tour, the guide will meet the guests at the starting point, which is the BenThanh Tourist Individual Travel Centre on 3-5 Nguyễn Huệ Street in District 1, and begin the journey through famous landmarks such as Nguyễn Huệ Pedestrian Street, the HCM City People's Committee Head Office, the HCM City Symphony – Opera and Ballet Theatre, the City Post Office, the Reunification Palace historical site, and concludes with a free lunch featuring delicious local specialties at Bến Thành Market.

Throughout the tour, BenThanh Tourist guides will provide an unforgettable experience, where each step reveals something new and each street holds unique stories that captivate the tourists.

Tourists who love history, food enthusiasts, or those simply curious about local culture, will enjoy the HCM City Free Walking Tour.

"We hope that through this walk through the famous landmarks of the city, tourists will have beautiful impressions and a deeper understanding of HCM City, one of the most attractive cities in Southeast Asia," said a representative of BenThanh Tourist.

Tourists are advised to register for the tour before 4pm the day before departure.

In 2017, the Free Walking Tours project, a free tourism model, was first launched by Vietravel, helping tourists to "slow down" to observe, feel, and experience the live of locals in an authentic manner.

Tourists can register for tours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday each week, and choose specific activities such as going to the market, exploring street food, shopping, and listening to historical and cultural stories.

After a hiatus, Vietravel recently restarted the model last year with various new products.

A representative of Vietravel stated that both domestic and international tourists can register via the company's hotline or representative offices in various locations. VNS
