HÀ NỘI — The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has launched a project to promote the advantages of nighttime tourism by 2025.
Under the project, 12 localities will have at least one model of nighttime tourism development by 2025 to attract domestic and international visitors, increase their expenditure and prolong their stays in the country.
It also aims to boost the advantages of night services to diversify Việt Nam’s tourism products, making them sustainable, high-quality and bringing more value to the country and enhance its tourism brand and competitiveness.

Night tourism is set to become a key product to develop the nighttime economy in Việt Nam.
Under the project, 12 targeted localities include Hà Nội, Quảng Ninh Province, Hải Phòng, Huế, Đà Nẵng, Khánh Hòa Province, Hội An (Quảng Nam Province), Đà Lạt (Lâm Đồng Province), Cần Thơ, Phú Quốc (Kiên Giang Province), HCM City and Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province.
Separate night entertainment complexes are expected to be formed in three big cities of Hà Nội, Đà Nẵng and HCM City.
Tourists are expected to spend at least one night in the localities where the project is implemented. In principle, night-time services would be allowed to be provided until 6am the next day in the 12 targeted localities.

By 2030, separate night entertainment complexes will be developed in other major tourist centres including Quảng Ninh Province, Hải Phòng City, Thừa Thiên-Huế Province, Hội An Town, cities of Nha Trang, Đà Lạt and Cần Thơ, Phú Quốc Island, and Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province.
Five models of night tourism product development are targeted in the project including cultural artistic performance; sports activities; health care and beauty services; shopping and night entertainment; night tours, and culinary culture.

The project also sets out solutions for urban planning and management, mechanisms and policies, organisation and management of services, human resources, investment, market orientation, advertisement, promotion and application of information and technology.
Regarding the policies for project implementation, cities and provinces will consider the current laws and the real conditions of their localities to propose adjustments related to the time of providing services.
Notably, a database will be built to support the concerted and efficient management of night tourism activities.
According to the project, there will be mechanisms to attract investments in building large-scale general entertainment complexes of international standards.
