HCM CITY — Thousands of visitors are expected to go to the northern province of Tuyên Quang to join the Tuyên Citadel Festival 2022 in September.
The highlight of Tuyên Citadel Festival this year is the Tuyên Citadel Night Party with a "Sparkling colors of Tuyên Citadel Night Festival" theme in the Mid-Autumn Festival which is the largest lantern festival in Việt Nam.
During the festival, there will be a recognition of the Tày, Nùng and Thái ethnic groups in Việt Nam as intangible cultural heritages of humanity.
In addition, there will be the a Trade-Tourism Fair and "Miss Tuyên Citadel" contest.
Hoàng Việt Phương, deputy chairman of Tuyên Quang Province's People's Commitee, said that as a locality rich in charming natural scenery and diverse cultural treasures, Tuyên Quang Province is ready to welcome people and visitors to the unprecedented festival activities this year.
Tuyên Quang, 140km from Hà Nội, has recently become a new and alluring destination for tourists who love discovery and exploration.
The province boasts picturesque scenery, adorned with a wide range of amazing, unique and breathtaking landscapes. The province is home to ethnic minorities from the northern mountainous region, with a great variety of valuable tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
A great revolutionary tradition is also a special feature of Tuyên Quang Province.
The province is trying to promote its tourism sector after a long year affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
