4. Côn Đảo, Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu

Côn Đảo, an enchanting archipelago in southern Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province, is just a one-hour flight from HCM City. Known historically as 'Hell on Earth' due to its history as a major French prison, this island has witnessed the trials of colonial times and the sacrifices of numerous heroes. Today, Côn Đảo is not only a national park but also a sought-after destination for eco-tourism and diving.

With its pristine white sandy beaches and vibrant underwater world, Côn Đảo is a diver's paradise. The best time for diving here is between March and September, with top spots including Hòn Bảy Cạnh, Hòn Tài and Hòn Cậu. For those hesitant about deep-sea diving, Ông Đụng Beach offers a more accessible experience.

However, it's important to note that some coral reefs in Côn Sơn Bay, Đầm Tre and Hòn Cau have been affected by bleaching due to rising sea temperatures. Scientists are actively surveying these areas to develop strategies for coral conservation and to manage tourism sustainably.

A coral diving tour in Côn Đảo averages around VNĐ700,000 per person, which includes the tour and scuba tank rental. Safety is a priority, with all necessary equipment provided, ensuring a secure and enjoyable diving experience.
