Viet Nam received more than 677,000 foreign visitors in the first 10 days of August, 22 per cent up year-on-year, according to the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism.
It took the total number of foreign visitors this year to nearly 4.9 million, a 7.9 per cent rise.
Most of the visitors came from Russia, China, Indonesia, Thailand, and New Zealand.
In the same period the number of domestic tourists increased by 11.7 per cent to 29.3 million.
HCM City welcomed over 2.4 million foreign visitors in the first eight months, up 1.4 per cent over the same period last year, according to the city Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.-VNS
