HCM CITY (VNS)— Composers Nguyen Hong Thuan and Nguyen Dan recently introduced their album for children featuring the voice of 9-year-old singer Nguyen Ngoc Bao An.
An's debut album, 12 Con Giap (Twelve Zodiac Animals), consists of 12 new songs for children.
"It's my first time to write songs for children," said Thuan, who is popular for his love and romantic songs performed by pop stars like Ho Ngoc Ha.
Each song is about the characteristics of one animal, such as Be Chuot Dang Yeu (Cute Mouse), Trau Ngoan Cua Ba Me (Parent's Obedient Buffalo) and Rong Thieng (Holy Dragon).
The album includes a video clip for the song De Con Mit Uot (Quick-Cry Goat).
An, also known as Ruby Bao An, began singing when she was three years old. She was the runner-up at HCM City's karaoke singing contest for children of that age.
In 2011, she joined Do Re Mi, a singing contest for children organised by Viet Nam Television, and won titles for the youngest competitor and the most impressive competitor.
She has released several music videos on YouTube and achieved millions of views.
She has also taken part in commercial videos and movies since she was three years old.
"12 Con Giap is a production which Thuan and I prepared for a long time. It is a gift to children at a time when the music industry is facing a shortage of songs for children," said Dan, who rose to fame for his rock songs written by famous band MTV. — VNS
