HA NOI (VNS) — The chairman of the AFC Disciplinary Committee has extended the suspension of six Vietnamese players from V-League's Dong Nai Club.
The order takes effect at confederation level in accordance with sanctions issued by the Vietnamese Football Federation (VFF) Disciplinary Committee.
The action was undertaken following a request from the VFF based on Article 136 of the AFC Disciplinary Code.
Each extension shall expire on January 23 or the issuing of a final decision by the VFF Disciplinary Committee, whichever is sooner.
On July 23, the VFF Disciplinary Committee temporarily suspended six players from taking part in any kind of football-related activity following investigations by the Viet Nam Office of Investigation Police (C45) on allegations of match fixing.
The six players, including the team captain, were arrested after Dong Nai's V-League match defeated Quang Ninh Coal on July 20 at the Cam Pha Stadium in Quang Ninh Province. — VNS
