HCM City – American super model Tyra Banks will be present for the final round of Viet Nam's Next Top Model, on January 8 at the Phan Dinh Phung Sports Complex in HCM City.

The competition is a Vietnamese reality television show in which a number of women compete for the title and a chance to start their modelling career. The show is based upon America's Next Top Model.

The final round will be broadcast live on Vietnamese television VTV3 at 8pm. The winner will get VND1 billion (US$50,000).

Banks, born in 1973, became famous as a model but television appearances were her commercial breakthrough. She is the creator and host of America's Next Top Model, co-creator of True Beauty and hosts her own talk programme, The Tyra Banks Show.

International artists gather for guitar concert in Da Nang

DA NANG – A guitar concert featuring national and international artists was held in Da Nang lastnight.

The show at the Nguyen Hien Dinh tuong (classical opera) Theatre featured Japanese guitarist Kozo Tate and Vietnamese-Australian musician Le Hoang Minh along with Vietnamese artists Nguyen Thanh Huy, Huynh Ba Tho and Tran Hoai Phuong.

"The guitar concert was organised to gauge the tastes of local people," said Ho Van Anh, director of the city's Festival and Event organisation centre. "We will organise such festivals more often to turn the city into a more attractive destination for tourists." — VNS
