Ancient artefacts held in private colleciton


Pottery and porcelain artefacts from the Tran and Le dynasties in the 13th to 15th centuries are being held in a private collection at a home in Nghi Xuan District in central Ha Tinh Province.

HA NOI (VNS)– Pottery and porcelain artefacts from the Tran and Le dynasties in the 13th to 15th centuries are being held in a private collection at a home in Nghi Xuan District in central Ha Tinh Province.

This was revealed in a survey by specialists at Ha Tinh Provincial Museum.

The artefacts include an emerald-green enamel and pottery bowl 25cm wide, the biggest bowl from the Tran dynasty (1225-1400) found in the province.

Other highlights of the collection are a bowl decorated with landscape patterns and carved old scripts indicating that it was made during the reign of King Le Thanh Tong (1460-67), and two 24cm-high jars from the Tran dynasty.

The museum's experts said the rare and precious collection was valuable for archaeological research. They did not say if it was available for public inspection.- VNS
