Archer Cuong sets new national games record

HA NOI (VNS) — Archer Nguyen Tien Cuong of Ha Noi broke national record in the men's 50m three-stringed bow with 352 points at the ongoing National Sports Games in the northern port city of Hai Phong yesterday.

Cuong's teammate Vu Viet Anh and Ngo Phi Khoa of Soc Trang were the runners-up with the same score of 341 points.

The 26-year-old athlete broke another national record in the men's 70m three-stringed bow with 353 points on Tuesday.

The four-day rowing event concluded yesterday. Ha Noi finished top with seven golds, one silver and two bronzes. Hai Duong finished second with five golds, four silvers and one bronze, while Thai Binh came third with three golds, one silver and one bronze.

In the men's billiards, Tat Duy Kien of HCM City defeated Luu Minh Phuc of Binh Duong to win gold in the 9-ball category. — VNS
