HA NOI (VNS)— A Vietnamese culture festival will be held in Germany in August.

Set to be held at the Friendship Island (Freundschaftsinsel) in the German city of Potsdam, the festival's highlights include a photo exhibition, traditional music and martial arts performances, a fashion show and a gastronomy fair.

According to Vietnamese ambassador to Germany Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh, the festival will be a great opportunity to present Viet Nam's people and rich culture to German and international friends. Anh said she believed the event would help to strengthen friendship and co-operation between the peoples of Germany and Viet Nam.

Germany is home to a large Vietnamese community, with about 100,000 people currently living and working in the country.-VNS
