HA NOI (VNS)– A concert featuring Australian trio Elixir will be held in Ha Noi and Da Nang as a part of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Australia.
The group, including saxophonist Zac Hurren and guitarist Stephen Magnusson, will be led by songstress Katie Noonan. Noonan's technical mastery and pure voice makes her one of Australia's most versatile vocalists.
The trio has gained recognition for their individual styles and potency. They have successfully blended lyrical, improvised folk and jazz-inspired music.
Elixir's self-titled first album was among the 20 best-sellers at the time it was released in 2003. Their second album won the 2011 Australian Record Industry Association (ARIA) Award in the jazz category.
The concerts will kick off at 8pm at Voice of Viet Nam (VOV)'s Theatre, 58 Quan Su Street, Ha Noi on May 16 and 17 and at 7.30pm, at Trung Vuong Theatre, 35 Phan Chau Trinh Street in Da Nang City on May 19.
Free tickets will be available at the theatres. – VNS
