HA NOI (VNS) — Top Vietnamese badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh entered the third round of the German Open badminton tournament yesterday.
The Olympian Minh defeated world number 19 Marc Zwiebler of the host country 21-15, 21-17 in 40 minutes.
The HCM City-born player will meet China's Tian Houwei, world number eight and seeded fifth, in the next match.
In the mixed doubles event, Do Duc Tuan and Pham Nhu Thao lost 13-21, 15-21 to South Korea's Solgyu Choi and Eom Hye Won in the main round.
