HA NOI (VNS) — A collection of 10 short movies in the series Berlinale Shorts Go Abroad from the Berlin International Film Festival will be presented in Ha Noi next week.
According to curator of the shorts, Maike Mia Hohne, the series present uncompromising films, which take an undisguised look at the present.
The short movies deal with current topics, ranging from surreal to real, from marvellous to cruel. They discuss a world which changes dramatically and endangers nature.
A highlight of the screening will be the Three Stones for Jean Ginet, which is about desire, promises, and friendship. The seven-minute production by Germany's Frieder Schlaich won the highest prize at this year's festival.
Other movies to be presented include Marc Jacobs by Sam de Jong from the Netherlands, Symphony No. 42 by Reka Bucsi from Hungary, Birds by Ulu Braun from Germany, A Paradise by Jayisha Patel from Cuba.
The movies will be shown in original language with Vietnamese and English subtitles, on August 8-9 at 7pm at the Goethe Institute Ha Noi, 56-58 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street. Entrance is free. — VNS
